In this guide we will cover how to add or change a user account. Each Blazonco site comes with an initial user account so you can login and edit your site, but if you have more than one person at your company who will be editing the site, multiple accounts are useful. We do not limit the amount of users per account so feel free to add as many as you need.
Let's begin by cliking on Settings in the main navigation. If you are on the Dashoard page you can also use the Add User shortcut on the far right of the page and skip to step 3.
Now in Settings, click on the Users tab in the sub navigation.
Now in the Users section, two boxes are displayed:
- This box lists of all users that can access your site's editor are listed. If you need to change a user's password, name, or permissions you can do so by clicking on the pencil icon in the user list. A user account can also be deleted by clicking on the red X in the list.
- This box allows you to add a user to your site.
Let's fill in the 2nd box now.
There are six steps to creating a new user, they are:
- The Username (e-mail) field will be the login name for the site. This should be an e-mail address. It does not have to be the same as the site. The e-mail address will not appear anywhere on the site, and we do not sell or rent any information.
- The Password is the password the user will use to login. This should be something difficult to guess but memorable. Symbols and numbers are encouraged to make it more difficult to guess.
- First name should be the first name of the user. This may be used to identify page saves as well as blog posts.
- Last name should be the last name of the user.
- The All check box under All Permissions should be checked by default. Permissions can be used to limit a user's ability to edit particular sections of a site.
- Once you have entered in all the required information, click Create User to add this user to your site.
Now that we have created the user, the user is now listed and can login to the site to begin editing. We currently do not send account creation e-mails so you will need to provide the login information to your new user.
